CHS - Class of 79
History Since Graduation

Pam Guynn Smith

In August of ’79, Robert Farmigoni (Class of ’78) and I were married. We lived in Starkville while he earned his degree in Horticulture. During that time, I worked at the University. Upon his graduation in ’83, we moved to Natchez for about a year. He then accepted a position with a large landscape company in Dallas, which sent us packing again. In Dallas, I worked first for an investment company, Rauscher Pierce Refsnes, which was very exciting. In 1984, I went to work for Intecom Inc., a telecommunications company. I worked there in various positions for almost 10 years. Robert and I were blessed with the birth of our daughter, Brooke, in 1985. Unfortunately, Robert and I were divorced in 1988. I met Ken, which you may remember from our 10 year reunion, and we were married in 1990. Ken and I had a daughter, Jordan, in 1993 at which time I became a "stay-at-home mom". We were once again blessed with a daughter, Madison, in 1997 (needless to say, Ken feels a little outnumbered by women in our house). Except for the joy of Madison’s birth, ’97 was by far the most difficult year for me since graduation. During my sixth month of pregnancy with Madison, my mother was diagnosed with leukemia. She fought a tough battle, but passed away in August ’97.

Most recently, Ken and I built a new home in Allen, a suburb of Dallas. We moved just two months ago and we are still trying to get settled. I continue to "work at home" and raise three wonderful children, and, as many of you know, that alone consumes most of my time. I do, however, manage to find time for myself and enjoy aerobics, gardening, boating, and golf.

I am so anxious to see everyone at the reunion. Like each of you, I truly cannot believe that 20 years have passed! I hope they have been good for you all. Where did the time go???
