CHS - Class of 79
History Since Graduation
Stephanie Sanders
I attended NEMCC after graduation and
received an AA degree in paralegal technology. I thought I was preparing myself to
go to law school but got married instead. I married Bryan Clausel on June 6, 1981
(and we will be celebrating our 18th anniversary this summer). After a year and a
half of helping him out at the jewelry store, I went back to NE to work towards a degree
in music education. Ashley was born in 1984, which put school on hold for a little
while. I transfered to Blue Mountain and finished my degree in May, 1987. I
began teaching at Alcorn Central Elementary School in the fall of 1987. I taught
music and intellectually gifted (which kept me hopping). I began working on my
masters degree and Alan was born in July, 1989. After receiving a masters degree in
elementary education, I took the 18 hours needed to add administration to my teaching
certificate. In 1994, I went back to school again to work on my doctorate. On
July 27, 1998, I was hired as the principal at Alcorn Central Elementary; completed my
dissertation in August, 1998; and had a third child in November, 1998. Needless to
say, this has been an eventful year and the degrees and the children are all complete.
Ashley plays on the eighth grade girls basketball team at Alcorn Central and will be
playing on the first girls fastpitch softball team. Alan is into basketball and
baseball also. Alan likes to farm with his dad and is already pretty good at driving
the truck in the field to haul hay as well as driving the tractor to bail the hay.
Their athletic ability is something they did not inherit from their mom. Andy is
three months old and already knows that he rules the roost at our house. He will grow up
thinking he has two moms because Ashley can handle him as well as I can.
I am exited about the class reunion this summer, but find it hard to believe that we have
been out of high school for 20 years (maybe it is because I still get up and go to school
every day). Look forward to seeing everyone then.
